Rachel Louise Hosch Guillory of Westlake, LA completed her journey in this life on December 29, 2012 with her family by her side. She was born in Athens, TX on January 3, 1926 to Reverend Lonnie James and Katilee Vernon Hosch. She married Reverend Daniel Timothy Guillory from Oberlin, LA, October 10, 1945.
Louise Guillory was a pastor’s wife, school teacher, precious mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. As a young lady she excelled in her studies and went on to complete her Bachelors Degree at McNeese State University and Masters Degree at Stephen F. Austin University and North Texas State University. She obtained degrees in both, English and Business. She excelled in all courses and maintained high academic status while serving her church in a pastor’s wife capacity. In most of the towns where they pastored she taught in public education. She taught at LaGrange High School, Westlake High School, Panola Jr. College, Mansfield Jr. High School and Logansport High School. After retiring from DeSota Parish School Board she took principalship of the Capitol City Christian School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
She and her husband pastored United Pentecostal Churches in Ft. Smith, Arkansas; Hillsboro, Texas; Westlake, Louisiana; Carthage, Texas; Logansport, Louisiana; and Oberlin, Louisiana where they retired from active ministry. She served with her husband as Historian for Louisiana District Museum and Archives for the United Pentecostal Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Rachel Morrison and husband, Allen, of Moss Bluff, LA and Gloria Rasco, of Moss Bluff, LA; grandchildren; Lisa Morrison Smith and husband Ken of Perth, Australia; Tony Morrison and wife, Dana of Beaumont, TX; Holly Rasco Pitts and husband, Carey of Shreveport, LA and York Rasco of Dallas, TX; great-grandchildren, Victoria and Grant Smith, Caleb, Hunter and Katy Morrison, Kelton, Kedric, Kalyn, Greyson and Ethan Pitts; sisters, Martha Myre, Mary Russell, Becky and husband, Rev. Gary Sylvester; brother, T.W. Hosch and wife, Carol; and many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend L. J. and Katilee Hosch; husband, Rev. D.T. Guillory; son-in-law, Rev. Steve Rasco; sister, Naomi Caldwell and brother, Rev. James Hosch.
Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will resume Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Apostolic Temple in Lake Charles, LA. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Apostolic Temple, 2711 W. Prien Lake Rd. in Lake Charles. Rev. Rick Treece will officiate along with Rev Kevin Cox, Rev. Robert Myre and Rev. Tony Morrison .Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake, LA.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
