1933 - 2013
James Parker Hussong, 79, of Pensacola went to be with his Lord Tuesday, January 01, 2013. Mr. Hussong was born August 11, 1933 in South Euclid, Ohio to James Harvey Hussong and Isabelle Leuty Hussong. He was a resident of Pensacola for 53 years. He attended Florida State University where he received both a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Music Theory. It was at FSU he met the love of his life, Margaret. They were married June 20, 1954. He served alongside his wife primarily in music ministry at Warrington United Methodist Church for over 38 years and later served at Richard’s Memorial United Methodist Church, and most recently Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church where he was a member. Mr. Hussong also taught piano and organ throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, was an active member in the Pensacola Music Teachers association and was a veteran having served in the Army (1954-59).
He was preceded in death by his wife Margret. He is survived by his son William A. Hussong, and wife Faye of Mobile, AL; daughter Linda S. Danks and husband Thomas of Pensacola. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christine P. Danks, Matthew A. Hussong, Hope A. Hussong, and Katherine M. Danks.
Funeral services will be held Monday January 7, 2013 at Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church at 2:00pm with Rev. Winston Jay, Rev. Riley Richardson, and Rev. Jenni Hendrix officiating
Pallbearers will be Thomas Danks, William Hussong, James Keck, Kenneth Danks, Alan Barlow, and Bob Bonsignore.
Internment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3:00pm-5:00pm, Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the funeral home.
