Duquette, Louis “Lou”, 85, of Palm Bay, died Tuesday, January 1st. A native of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Lou came to the Palm Bay area in 1981 from New Jersey. Lou was retired from the US Post Office where he had been a Postal Inspector. He was a veteran of WW II having served in the US Navy as a radio operator on a Mine Sweeper. While active at the Post Office, Lou served several years as the President of the Letter Carriers Union. Here in Palm Bay he was very active at the Glenbrooke Community and had served as one of the Ambassadors for the Community. He currently holds the record at Glenbrooke as one who bowled two games with a perfect 300 score on the Wii. Active in the Rowdy Roosters he was responsible for using the computer to draw roosters and post them to let everyone know about upcoming meetings and other activities.
Lou is survived by his wife of 65 years: Dolores; two sons: Paul of White House Station, NJ; Donald of South Plainfield, NJ; one daughter: Diane Lombardi of Ashville, NC; three brothers: Lionel, Jr. and Eugene both of Rhode Island, Conrad of Boca Raton; and six grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at the Club House in Glenbrooke on Saturday (Jan 5th) at 1:00 PM. Following his cremation his cremated body will be place in a niche in Fountainhead Memorial Park. Fountainhead Funeral Home is in charge of services.
