Elizabeth Byrne Schantz, 64, from Riverside, CA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6th, 2013. Elizabeth (aka – Betty) was born on June 22nd, 1948 to John and Muriel Byrne in Detroit, Michigan.
Elizabeth was a devoted mother first-and-foremost, followed by many years as a dedicated employee with a regional ambulance company. For the last 15 years she proudly served as an amanuensis with the Rialto Unified School District. Elizabeth battled breast cancer for 14 years and endured 4 wars of chemotherapy all while continuing to work full-time to support her boys.
Elizabeth is survived by her two beloved sons, Mike and Joey, who she served as a source of love, hope, sacrifice and inspiration. She is also survived by her siblings Patty, Joe, Bill and Maurine.
Elizabeth’s Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 12th at St. George Roman Catholic Church in Fontana, CA. Her burial (The Rite of the Committal) will immediately follow the Mass and will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Colton, CA.
Elizabeth will be missed beyond belief and her Love, Devotion, and Compassion for others will be remembered forever.
