William, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, joined our Lord on January 7th at home. He was born on April 7 in Eden, North Carolina to William S. Walker and Alberta Walker. He graduated from Wentworth High School in North Carolina.
William retired in Silverdale, WA with his family after serving his country for 24 years in the Naval Service. He was an extremely hard worker and during his Navy career he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and Navy Pistol Shot Medal.
He will always be remembered as a loving husband and dedicated father. He was an extremely kind hearted, easy going person to be around who always enjoyed a good laugh. He loved the game of basketball, talking sports with his kids and practicing photography.
William is survived by his wife, Myrna Walker; son, Johnnie Walker (Francine), daughter; Janelle Walker, sisters; Marilyn Bell (Clarence) of Reidsville, NC, Shirley Walker of Roanoke, VA, brothers; Warren Walker of Florida, Anthony Walker (Germaine) of Largo, MD, Douglas Holt (Adella) of Owings Mill, MD, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father William and Alberta Walker.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, January 15th, followed by a service at 12 pm on Wednesday, January 16th at Miller –Woodlawn in Bremerton, WA.
