Our family lost its patriarch on January 10, 2013 to a progressive illness at the age of 68. Jesse Ramos Soliz was born May 3, 1944 in Elsa, Texas to Eduardo and Bernarda Soliz. He is survived by his loving wife Rosie, 3 children, Anna, Jesse, and Helen, his 5 grandchildren, Kamia, Memphis, Brenden, Jeffrey, and Katerina, 8 devoted siblings (Eduardo, Joe, Alfonso, Guadalupe, Adolpho, Josie Zamora, Maria Medina, and Pauline Salazar) and their spouses, and his many nieces and nephews. His pre-deceased family includes his parents and 7 siblings (Melquiades Soliz, Hilaria (Valenzuela) Asman, Carlotta Mora, Ramona Pineda). Jesse was known as "Jess" to his wife of 43 years and "Chewy" to his family. He attended Tempe High School and was actively involved in sports. After high school, he attended Arizona State University prior to joining the Army Reserves. He dedicated his life to supporting his family as a carpenter since the late 1960's working on such projects as Chase Field ("BOB"), University of Phoenix Stadium, Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant, DC Ranch, and many others. Jesse enjoyed spending his time with family, going on vacations, watching sporting events, and helping others. During his final days, he received caring support from Hospice of the Valley.
