Anna Henderson Robertson, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Beaumont, Texas, died on Wednesday, the 16th of January 2013, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston of complications from lung cancer. She was 65.
Anna loved reading books and watching movies. Perhaps her greatest passion was for her beloved cairn terriers. More than dogs, they were her children. Anna is preceded in death by Gus and Zak. She is survived by OB and Charlie. Anna also had a special love and bond with her sister, matron of honor and best friend, “baby” Carolyn (McCrory).
Anna is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Richard (Rick) Robertson. Anna is preceded in death by her father, Charles Henderson Sr. She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Henderson; brother, Charles Henderson Jr., his wife Laura and their son Michael; sister, Carolyn McCrory, her husband Robert and their children Erin Williams and husband Rickey, and Jeffrey McCrory. Anna loved her in-laws and was preceded in death by Rick’s parents, Odes and Allie Robertson. She is survived by Rick’s brother, Bailey Robertson, his wife Ana and son “little” Bailey; sister, Becky Wilcox, husband Robert and their children Lindsey Hooper and husband Kyle (children, Kaylee, Kyla, Addelyn, and Mariya), Kacie Barbay and husband Kevin (children, Kynslie and Karson), Ashley Wilcox, Haley Vincent and husband Chris, Ben Wilcox and Matt Wilcox, sister Kim Trutane, husband Steve and their children Russell and Perry.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center for their loving care during her illness. Of particular note they would like to thank Dr. John Heymach, PA Michele Neskey and NP Karen MacKenney.
A memorial service celebrating her life is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 26th of January, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.
In lieu of customary remembrances, and in keeping with Anna’s love for animals, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in her name be directed to the Houston SPCA, a charity she regularly contributed to, at 900 Portway Dr., Houston, TX, 77024.
