Bertha Maxine Ratliff, 93, passed away January 17 in Cypress, Texas. She was born December 30, 1919, in Smith Center, Kansas, the daughter of Ruby and Mary DuBois and one of 12 siblings. She grew up in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and moved to Oklahoma City, where she met and married Bill Ratliff. They moved to California during WW II, then back to Oklahoma City, where they raised their family. Bill's job took them to North Dakota, Wyoming, New Mexico, Texas, Kansas and back to Oklahoma before they settled and retired in Cypress, Texas. Bertha is survived by daughter, Judy Damron Pool, of Dallas, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Jim Brown, of Bakersfield, California; Brandy Brown Starr and Matt Brown, of Bakersfield; Kurt Damron, of Nashville, Tennessee; Dana Damron Thompson, of Midlothian, Texas; Patricia Damron Armstrong, of Lawton, Oklahoma; and great-grandchildren, Blake, Piper, Robert, Ryan, Spencer, Mason, Joe, Johnny and Cooper. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; grandson, Mark; and granddaughter, Kelly.
