Zelda Lucille Gresham was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Wichita, Kan., to John and China Gresham. She was the youngest of five daughters. Zelda graduated from North High School in Wichita. She married her high school sweetheart, John Miller, in 1940 shortly after his college graduation. She worked in the county clerk's office of the Wichita County Courthouse during the years when her husband served in the Army during World War II. Afterward she enjoyed her exclusive role as a homemaker.
Zelda had resided in Fort Worth since 1960. She enjoyed her close relationships with her sisters and other extended family members, her church activities and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Zelda and her husband John enjoyed traveling. After his retirement as division passenger agent for the Santa Fe Railroad, they organized Gadabouts Tours Travel Club and enjoyed escorting group members on these tours. They celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary while on an Alaskan cruise. Zelda was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1990.
Zelda continued to travel extensively with friends. She enjoyed many cruises and several trips to Europe. She made her last trip to Europe in her mid-'80s with a riverboat cruise down the Rhine, Main and Danube.
Zelda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and was greatly loved in return.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Waterford on Cooper, an assisted living community, the caregivers with Heart to Heart Hospice, and Zelda's physician, Dr. Robert Kelly. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
Survivors: Son, Dan Miller and wife, Joyce; grandchildren, Danna Delotto and husband, Jeffery, John Miller and wife, Tanisha; great-grandchildren, Andrew Delotta, Michael Delotto, Catherine Delotto and Jordan Miller.
