NORTH YARMOUTH – Robert L. “Bub” Thurlow, Jr., 52, of North Yarmouth passed away
on the night of January 29th, 2013. He died surrounded by his loving family and friends in his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bub was born on February 16th, 1960 in Portland, the son of Robert and Constance (Avery) Thurlow. He attended Yarmouth schools and went on to become a master plumber, who carried on the family business, Thurlow Plumbing and Heating.
Bub was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and snowmobiling. Some of his favorite times were spent camping with his family and friends in Eustis or at the family camp in Rangeley. Bub was full of life and laughter, and lived each day to the fullest. He had an exceptional social talent and could make friends wherever he went. He was a practical joker who maintained his wonderful and quirky sense of humor even throughout his illness.
He is survived by his daughters, Laura Thurlow and Katie Thurlow; his sister, Betsey Barter; his nephews Ed, Dan, John, and James, as well as very many special and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Pat, his niece Jessica, and his close friend Harold.
A memorial service celebrating Bub’s life was to be held on Saturday February 9th, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the North Yarmouth Congregational Church, corner of Routes 115 and 231, North Yarmouth but due to weather this has been changed to Sunday February 10, 2013 at 1:00 PM.
