Toshiko Alice Tameno passed away peacefully on February 7, 2013. Alice Kagayama was born January 25, 1919 to Umakichi and Yoshina Niyama Kagayama. Alice had three sisters and one brother, Kiyoko Kagayama; Haruko Kagayama, Pat Kagayama Kojima and Bill Kagayama. Alice and George met in Tule Lake Relocation Center in 1942 and they were married in 1943. They had six sons together: David (Kazuyo) Tameno, Stan (Maureen) Tameno, Gary Tameno, Ron (Pam) Okubo, Mike (Linda) Tameno and Don Tameno. Grandchildren: Richard (Jamie) Tameno, Christopher Tameno, Kenneth Tameno, Rodney Tameno, Stephan Tameno, Stephanie Okubo, and Julia Tameno. Great Grandchildren: Olivia and Emilie Alice Tameno. Besides being an excellent cook and housekeeper Alice enjoyed many hobbies such as knitting, crocheting, silver smithing, Japanese Bunka, fishing, mushroom hunting and working in her vegetable garden. She also enjoyed the family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George, sisters Kiyoko and Haruko, brother Bill and son David. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Funeral Home at 5:30 PM on Friday February 15, 2013. The family asked that in lieu of flowers to please make a donation in Alice’s memory to the Virginia Mason Foundation PO Box 1930 D1-MF Seattle, WA 98111-1930 or to a charity of your choice.
