Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Clifford Beck and Mildred (Owen) Beck of Dartmouth, he was a lifelong resident of the area.
Paul was a graduate of New Bedford High School class of 1965 and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and later served in the US Army Reserves. He worked as a Unit Assistant at St. Luke’s Hospital for many years before retiring.
Paul enjoyed fine woodworking while he was at home and crafted all of the furniture there. He was especially happy when hunting, fishing and camping with his buddies at “Rooster Camp” in Maine.
Survivors in addition to his mother and wife include a son, Peter Beck and his wife Heather of East Falmouth; a daughter, Carey Moniz and her husband Jesse of Acushnet; two grandsons, Drew and Seth Moniz of Acushnet; a step granddaughter, Kaitlyn Currier of East Falmouth and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10 AM in Grace Episcopal Church, 133 School Street, New Bedford. Burial will be private. Visiting hours, Thursday 5-8 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Forever in Our Hearts, P.O.
