With profound sadness the family of Phil Horn of Windsor announces his death. Phil will be forever missed by his loving wife, Darlene, daughters Sarah Horn, Tracy Levitt (Kevin) and son, Scott Workman (Rosanna). He will remain an amazing “Gumpa” to Maxwell, Brandon and Cassaundra. Brother to Wendy and Arthur (Joan), brother-in-law to Bonnie St. Amour (Ken), Bill Cowan (Pam) and Charlene Curtis, son-in-law to Irene Cowan, Phil was a favourite uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Wallace and Dorothy Horn. During a distinguished financial career as an astute investment advisor, Phil helped further mission statements of the Kinsmen Club, the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918), Metropolitan General Hospital, the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the Essex Region Conservation Authority. He was an active member of the Essex Golf and Country Club and the Windsor Flying Club. Favourite memories include the seasons spent in the North Channel waters of Manitoulin with family on his beloved Beaver Island, annual canoeing trips, world travel with friends and all the outdoor adventures with his cousins. Every day was viewed as a gift and an opportunity to understand the world in which he lived. Phil possessed a deep sensitivity to and reverence for the natural world. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (1969 Wyandotte St. East, Windsor 519-252-5711) on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm where a memorial service will take place on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 11:00am.
