BOBBY HUGH HARRISON went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 13, 2013. He was 82. Bobby was born May 2, 1930 in Miller, MS, the son of Thomas and Leslie Massey Harrison. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in August 1950 and served throughout the Korean Conflict at Brady Field, Japan, with the 437th Troop Carrier Wing and the 315th Troop Carrier Wing. After the war, he married Barbara Phillips on May 6, 1954. He retired from the Air National Guard and the U.S. Postal Service in 1990. He was a member of Frayser Bible Church for many years and more recently of Church Road Baptist Church. He was a member of the Genealogical Society of DeSoto County, where he volunteered his time. He also volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital. In addition to his wife of 58 years, his two children, Tim (Sharon) Harrison and Melinda Whiteside; a son-in-law, Mike Whiteside, and also Regina (Rick) Sparks, whom he loved like a second daughter, survive him. He also leaves six grandchildren, Brad Whiteside, Kandis (Chris) Oliver, Timothy (Erica) Harrison, Lauren Whiteside, Eric Sparks, and John Sparks, and four great-grandchildren, Lillian and Evelyn Harrison and Cohen and Jonah Oliver. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Youth Ministry at Church Road Baptist Church, 3660 Church Road West, Horn Lake, MS 38637. Visitation will be Friday, February 15 from 5-7 p.m., and the service will be Saturday, February 16 at 10 a.m., both at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS.
