He was born May 14, 1935 in Crucible, a son of the late Cosmo “Jack Sargent” and Dorinda Salvati Sorgiovanni.
Mr. Sorgiovanni was a graduate of Cumberland Township High School.
He had served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Sorgiovanni was a lifelong farmer and was well known for his potatoes, corn, and homemade wine. He was affectionately known as the “Potato Man”.
Nick was also a retired coal miner from Isabella Mine, and a member of the United Mine Workers of America, and a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church of Crucible.
Surviving are a son, Joe Sorgiovanni of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Rose Frawley (Brian) of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Anthony, Josef, Shawna, Dillon and Josh; five siblings, Mary Hopton of Carmichaels, Anna Kushon of Carmichaels, Rosa Buday of Crucible, James Sorgiovanni of Mantua, OH, and Gena Everly of Carmichaels.
Deceased is a son, Cosmo Sorgiovanni.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. John M. Bauer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Crucible. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Army.
