PEABODY – Helen (Sczuchmacher) Weisman, entered into rest February 18, 2013 at the age of 92 years. She emigrated from Poland in 1947 after surviving the Holocaust, but losing her entire family. She and her late husband, Chaim, also a survivor met before leaving Poland and began a new life in Peabody, MA.
She had a long-time affiliation with Congregation Sons of Israel and was a regular participant at the Peabody Council on Aging Activity Center.
Helen was the loving mother of Mark Weisman, Esther Weisman Kattef and Susan Comak & her husband Bruce. She took great joy in her seven grandchildren, Josh, Emily, Heather, Amanda, Brittany, Arielle and Simone.
Services at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, SALEM on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Interment at Maple Hill Cemetery, Peabody. Shiva at the home of Susan & Bruce Comak on Wednesday beginning at 6:30 PM-8:30 PM, Thursday 1:00-5:00 PM & 6:30 PM-8:30 PM and on Friday 12:00-5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Congregation Sons of Israel, P.O. Box 702, Peabody, MA 01960 or to the Peabody Council on Aging, 79 Central Street, Peabody, MA 01960.
