Franklin J. Aldrich, 84, of Pocola, Ok, passed away February 18, 2013. He was born February 27, 1928 in Lyons County, Kansas to Franklin A. and Eunice (Northern) Aldrich. Frank was retired from St. Edward Mercy Medical Center and had also worked for Santa Fe Railroad. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a member of VFW post 4884 in Spiro, OK. He was also a member of the American Legion, and Pocola Heights Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Beverly of Pocola, OK; one daughter, Deborah Alguire and her husband Jeff, of Sanger, TX; three grandchildren, Hannah Smith and her husband Greg, Andrew Morris and his wife Rachel, and Joshua Morris; one great grandchild, Aidan Smith. Funeral Service will be 9:00 A.M. Thursday, February 21, 2013, in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will be in Fort Smith National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Gaylon Freeman, Mark Edward Freeman, Anthony Freeman, Tony Freeman, Andrew Morris, and Jeff Alguire. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Gaylon W. Freeman, Jeremy Brown, Damon Rutgers, Ray Moore, and members of VFW post 4884. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 20, 2013, from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
