Shirley L. Watkins, 72, of Chester, AR, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in her home. She was born February 23, 1940 in Bloomer, AR to the late Elmer and Margaret Watson. She was a retired United Steelworker from Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith, a farmer, a master gardener, and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Watkins; a sister, Margie Payton; and three brothers, Elmer Raymond Watson, Jr., Bobby G. Watson, and Danny Joe Watson.
She is survived by three daughters, Teresa Watkins-Franklin of the Lee Creek Community, Tina Cluck of Evansville, and Tammy Y. Watkins of Chester; two sisters, Clora Schriver and Jane Key both of Van Buren; a brother, James Harold Watson of Chester; six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 25, 2013 at Chester Freewill Baptist Church in Chester with interment to follow at Vaught Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Michael L. Watkins, Eric Cluck, Charlie G. Cluck, Jr., Daniel McDunner, Cody Franklin, and Clay Franklin.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Edwards Van Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, Arkansas.
