Rebecca (Becky) Niemi, age 80, born September 23, 1932, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on February 18, 2013. Becky, a former waitress then receptionist, retired in 2012. She was a Cocoa resident for 55 years, moving to Brevard from Morganton, North Carolina in 1958.
Becky enjoyed traveling, especially cruises and going to Las Vegas for fun and excitement. She loved playing cards and board games with family members and friends, but most of all she loved just spending time with her family. She is survived by her three children: Vickie (James) Hall, Greg (Joanne) Abernathy, and Alan Riley; grandchildren: Tracy Martin, Jennifer (Charlie) Labe, Michael Abernathy, Cassie Abernathy, Brandon Riley & Kaitlyn Riley; great grand-children: Billy Martin, Foster Martin, David Martin, Chris Martin, E.J. Loftus, Jeremy Abernathy & Jada Norton; and one great-great grandchild: Ava Mae Martin. Other survivors include two brothers, two sisters, one half-sister and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation services will be held Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 6 – 8 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. All services will be held at Brevard Funeral Home in Cocoa, FL.
