Salisbury-Candace Nicole Peoples Black, 24, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Born in Salisbury on August 12, 1988, she was the daughter of Terry Bruce Peoples, Sr. and Sharon James Peoples of Salisbury. A 2006 honors graduate of North Rowan High School, she was continuing her education at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Candace was a nursing assistant/secretary at Rowan Regional Medical Center and was a member of North Main Baptist Church in Salisbury. Candace was a devoted and wonderful mother, a loving daughter, sister and aunt, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, family members include her husband, Lawrence Black, Jr.; her children, Malachi Xavier Lawrence Black and Mikaela Nicole Black and her brothers and sisters, Joyce Witherspoon, Cindy Hinson, Tracy Taylor, Terry Peoples, Jr., William Peoples, Charlotte Lawson, Bobby Peoples, Emma Peoples, Chris Webb, Wayne Webb, Kimberly and Kelvin Peoples.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00-3:00 at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. A funeral service to remember and celebrate Candace's life will begin at 3:00 in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Dale Robertson, pastor, North Main Baptist Church.
