Robert V. Yost , 85, of Harrisburg passed away Wednesday, February 20,2013 at Select Specialty Hospital Harrisburg. Born July 3, 1927 in Frackville, PA, he was the son of the late Vincent and Marion (Wood) Yost. Bob was a man dedicated to his friends and work retiring after forty two years as a conductor with the former Reading Railroad.
He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II serving in the 42nd Rainbow Division. He enjoyed many things in life from being, a New York Yankees and Notre Dame Fan, spending time with his extended family, to having breakfast with friends at many different places in the area.
Robert was a member of William Penn Social Assoc., Moose Middletown Lodge # 410, Verhovay Home Assoc., the 40&8 Club and the American Legion Lawton Post # 998. He was also a member of the
Am Vets where he was a Maintenance Engineer.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irene J. (Colestock) Yost.
Surviving are his 2 step daughters: Jane Deschenes and Jennie L. Klinger, 2 step sons: Clifford and Michael McFarland all of Harrisburg, 5 step grandchildren and his best friend Diane L. Adams of Mechanicsburg.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, February, 27, 2013, from Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St. Harrisburg, with viewing from 9:30 to 10:30am prior to service. Interment with full military honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
