Rickie Ray Brown, 54 of College Station, passed away Sunday afternoon February 24, 2013 at the College Station Medical Center. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral Services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday February 27, 2013 at A&M United Methodist Church in College Station
with Reverend John Reasons officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery of College Station.
Rickie was born November 13, 1958 in Bryan to Thelma Rae Blocker and Eugene Burman Brown. He graduated from Bryan High School in 1978. Rickie worked in residential construction, becoming a Master Carpenter and was best known for his Cabinet work. He eventually began his own company in home building in Bryan/College Station.
Rickie was an avid golfer. He loved his family, his dog Skeeter, Dr. Pepper, and Shipley Donuts. He was a member of A&M United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Laurie Lastor Brown of College Station; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dustin Christopher and Cari Brown of Princeton, Texas, and Beau Michael Moore of College Station; one daughter, Laura Lea Moore of College Station; brother and sister-in-law, Larry Wayne and Louise Brown of Rockwall, Texas; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Carolyn Ponzio of Bryan, and Cherry and Joe Johnny Ruffino of Bryan; four nieces, Shannon Alexander and husband Danny, Sandy Ponzio, Toni Ruffino, and Melanie Scarpace and husband Jason; three nephews, Shawn Ponzio and wife Nicole, Luke Ruffino and wife Katie, and Joey Ruffino; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 2007.
