GELLER, JOHN Passed away peacefully of natural causes in Birmingham AL on February 25, 2013 at the age of 84. Born in Detroit Michigan on 24 June 1928 to Norman and Rose (Burns) Geller. John graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1951 and from the University of Detroit Law School in 1953. He went on to serve his country in the US Army in Japan from 1954 to 1956. For many years John taught History and English at Austin Catholic Preparatory School in Detroit where he was the Head of the Social Studies Department and coach of the golf team. He retired from the legal department of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in 1988. John was a long time parishioner of St. Paul on the Lake Church, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister Mary (Geller) Donlevy of Birmingham, AL, as well as several nephews and nieces. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday March 3 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Birmingham, AL, preceded by recitation of the rosary at 9:15 and visitation at 9:30.
