Born in Manhattan, Mr. Amodeo moved as a child with his family to Great Kills where he remained for the rest of his life.
A graduate of PS 8, Great Kills, Mr. Amodeo served in the Army during World War II, attaining the rank of sergeant. He served in Germany with the 783rd Ordnance Squadron.
Mr. Amodeo operated Four Winds Music shop, a family-owned business, for many years. He retired in 1990.
Mr. Amodeo was an avid fisherman and boater and enjoyed photography, particularly, taking nature photographs.
He was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.
Surviving are his sister, Lee Jacobsen, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Clare's Church. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood.
