James D. Buckley, age 77, of Sikeston, died March 8, 2013, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born August 7, 1935, in Morris Chapel, Tenn., to the late Stephen Douglas and Mattie Jewell McClain Buckley, he was employed for 26 years by the Sikeston Public School System, and was a custodian at the Sikeston Kindergarten Center. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Sikeston.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, James D. and Mary Buckley, Jr., of Miner and David Johnson of Springfield; four daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Chuck Lingle, Barbara and Robert Hazel and Kim and Norman Lingle, all of Sikeston, and Sara and Noble Hower of Rolla; and one sister, Wilma Jean Hampton of Paragould, Ark. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, from 12:00 noon until time of the memorial service at 1:00pm at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
