A native of Rome, Eddie was the only son of Margaret Ann Dooley Allmon and the late Felton Eugene Allmon. He grew up as most folks in our area with loving, attentive parents. “Fast Eddie” as he was affectionately known by his coworkers, was hardworking, talented, and funny with a dry sense of humor. He was well respected by his friends and family. Although a very private person, those that met Eddie learned that he had a devoted love to his family and friends. He loved kids but he especially loved to clown around and play with his grandkids. Eddie was the type of man that you did not have to guess about….”what you see is what you get”.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann Jacobs Allmon, to whom he was married on March 6, 1971; two sons, Christopher James Allmon and wife, Nikki of Rome, Crandel Eugene Allmon (Jon Hall) of Rome; three grandchildren, Cayla Ann Allmon, Christopher Dalton Allmon and Lillian Jean Allmon all of Rome; mother, Margaret Ann Allmon of Rome; two sisters, Diane Ayers and husband, Robert and Jane Davis and husband, Joe, both of Rome; a niece, JoAnn Parker and husband, Derek and their child; and a nephew, Ryan Williams and wife, Charity and their children.
A memorial service will be held for Mr. Allmon on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 7 PM in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donation to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd., Suite 280, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
