She obtained a degree in Interior Design from the University of Texas (Austin) where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She designed executive offices in downtown Houston before turning her talents to the residential market. An auto accident put her in short leg braces but did not slow her down or keep her from marrying Todd in 1969. In Memphis, Tennessee, she settled into the role of college professor’s wife. In 1977, she and Todd returned to Houston where they have lived ever since.
