Junior A.G. Foster, 80, of Nebo, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Autumn Care of Marion. Born on June 4, 1932 in Wilkes County, NC, he was the son of the late William Thomas “Willie T.” Foster and Esther Hamby Foster. Mr. Foster was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge and he loved racing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Carswell Foster; sister, Norma Sue Hicks; and brother, Billy Foster.
He is survived by his daughters, Patsy Elaine Childers and her husband, Roger and Sheila Foster, all of Nebo; sons, James T. “Jimmy” Foster of Charlotte, Wayne Foster and his wife, Kathleen of Nebo and Dennis Keith Foster and his wife, Gail of Belmont; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Welch and her husband, Floyd of Ferguson, NC; and brothers, Harvey Foster and his wife, Wanda of Lenoir, Harold Foster and his wife, Jeanette of Ferguson, NC, James Albert Foster and his wife, Jan of Lenoir, Donald Foster and his wife, Rhitta of Lenoir, Paul Foster of Ferguson, NC and Raymond Foster and his wife, Ruby of Marion.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 14, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2013 at First Free Will Baptist Church in Marion with the Reverend Dean Owenby officiating. Burial will follow the service at McDowell Memorial Park.
Pallbearers honoring Mr. Foster are James Foster, Jr., Dustin Smith, Danny Smith, Joshua Childers, Todd Childers and Greg Hollifield. Honorary Palbearers are Austin Childers, Brandon Davis and Frankie Holden.
