“I was sitting here in heaven having a wonderful day. I started thinking about you. Please don’t shed any tears, because I will wait for you in heaven, if it takes a hundred years. Everything I had on earth, I have here too! My first day here my body became brand new. It is really beautiful here. Although your heart is broken because my body is gone, my heart will always be inside your heart where I’ll stay.” A resident of Denham Springs passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 14, 2013. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was also the owner of System Service Alarm for over 25 years. He also worked in the BR Constable’s Office for 20 yrs. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 5 PM until 9 PM and will resume at Heart Ease Church 12112 Florida Blvd. on Monday March 18, 2013, from 1 PM until the service at 2 PM conducted by Pastor Philip Pimlott. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, JoAnn C. Bennett; mother, Johnnie Mae “Patsy” Bennett; daughter, Tiffani Lynn Williams and husband, Jeff; son, Brian Keith Bennett and wife, Kelli; sister, Patricia “Patty” Bennett; brothers, Larry Bennett and wife, Fay, and Gary Bennett; five grandchildren, Tyler Anthony Bennett, Ashlynn Elizabeth Williams, Hannah Elysse Williams, Sarah Makenzie Williams, and Ethan Blake Williams; three step-grandchildren, Blaine Joseph Bryant, Blake Lamar Bryant, and Luke Matthew Walton; and his beloved dog and cat, Judah and Charlie. He is preceded in death by his father, William Bennett, Sr.; sisters, Susan Bennett and Donna Marie Bennett Johnston; and half brother, Eddie Walls. Pallbearers will be Mike Catania, David Copeland, Justin Bennett, Tony Bennett, Gasper “Jr” Cacioppo, Eddy Martin, and honorary pallbearer, Michael Bennett. A special thanks to friend and neighbor, David Copeland and the family would like to thank the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center, especially, Jenny and Michelle and the staff at Generations Hospice.
