Ralph M. Pantall went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 13, 2013. Ralph was born April 25, 1923 in Thompson Station, Williamson County, TN. He moved to Jackson for stationing with the Navy Recruitment Office in 1944, where he met his wife of 68 years, Bobbie Jean Sullivan. After serving in both World War II and the Korean War aboard aircraft carriers in the Navy Medical Corp, he worked in surgery and psychological research at the Veterans Administration in Jackson until his retirement (1940-1979).
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Howard M. Pantall and Floy Henderson Pantall, his brothers, Oliver Pantall and Roy Pantall, both of Columbia, TN. He is survived by a sister, Jean Pantall Hargrove of Franklin, TN, a son, Thomas H. (Pat) Pantall of Covington, LA and daughters, L. Joyce (Steve Douglas) Pantall of Madison, MS and Carol D. (Robert) Chism of Columbus, GA; grandsons Ryan (Ashley) Chism of Columbus, GA, and Brent (Jessica) Carpenter of Morraine, OH; granddaughters: Melissa Hall of Mobile, Alabama; Brandy (Jayson) Rios of Oceanside, CA, Colene Curtis (Fred) Curtis of Gainesboro, TN, and great grandchildren: Jacob, Emma and William Rios of Oceanside, CA; Breanna and Austin Hall of Mobile, AL, and Benjamin Carpenter of Morraine, OH; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Ralph was an active church member of Boling Street Methodist Church and after a move from Jackson to Ridgeland in 1978; he became a member of the Ridgeland United Methodist Church. His hobbies included coin collecting, gardening; boating/waterskiing; and enjoyed TV baseball and golf.
Visitation for Mr. Pantall will be on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland from 10:30am to 11:30am with a services starting at 11:30am. Burial will be at Jessamine Cemetery.
Ralph was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather and will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ridgeland United Methodist Church.
