Edna Mathilda Brass of Key First Nation went home to heaven peacefully from Vancouver General Hospital surrounded by loved ones. She was predeceased by her parents; Solomon Charles Brass, and Rebecca Grace Brass (O'Soup) and her siblings; Ethel, Mary, Winston, Lawrence, Kathleen, Pauline, Elmer & Alvin, Sterling, Solomon, Walton and Victoria. She will be greatly missed by her Surviving sister Grace Russell (Cecil); beautiful daughters Crystal, Nicole and Rebecca; Grandchildren Damien, Cheyenne, Jacob, Ava and Emma; as well as many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
An advocate for Indigenous rights, Edna will be missed by the many wonderful friends she made through her kind and generous efforts to help the community. She will be remembered as a very outgoing, outspoken and kind hearted soul who opened her door to help anyone in need. Her love for children was demonstrated repeatedly in her lifetime as an aunt, mother, and her most revered role as a grandmother -- no words can adequately express the loss and emptiness her passing has left. We will never forget the day the Eagles came to escort her beautiful soul home.
