Frances Ingram Alley age 84 October 19, 1928 - March 21, 2013. Mrs. Alley was a loving wife and devoted Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and East Tennessee Baptist Hospital School of Nursing where she was a member of the first graduating class. Retired from Donelson Hospital as Director of Surgery, operating room nursing was her passion. In 1980, she received Frist Humanitarian Award, the highest honor one can receive at an HCA hospital facility. Mrs. Alley was an active member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church since 1964 and was recognized as their Woman of the Year in 2003. Mrs. Alley was also a Girl Scout troop leader and belonged to the Ladies Hermitage Association. She and her husband were avid campers, active in the National Campers and Hikers Association, and were charter members of Music City Campers.
Mrs. Alley was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, C.W. (Ham) Alley; her daughter, Julia Alley Boyd, and her parents, Joel and Edith Ingram. She is survived by her children, Lewis Alley, Charlotte (Ronnie) Shores, brother; Robert (Ginny) Ingram, son-in-law, Billy Boyd and six grandchildren, David Porter, Alia (Jason) Pike, Joel (Jennifer) Boyd, Ashley (Nick) Edge, Courtney Alley, Elizabeth Alley and 4 great grandchildren and Amy Alley.
Dr. James Moran will officiate Mrs. Alley’s Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30 at Hermitage Presbyterian Church, 421 Highland View Drive, Hermitage, TN 37076. Visitation 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hermitage Presbyterian Church.
