EASTHAM – John A. Spellman, of Eastham, passed away peacefully on March 24th after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Paterson, NJ to Mary and Raymond Spellman on March 7, 1936. He was the husband of Margaret Mary Spellman for 55 years and leaves behind his wife and children; Cheryl Hand and husband Bob of Flemington, NJ, John Spellman of Greenwood Lake, NY; grandchildren, Jessica Spellman, Scott Spellman, and Danielle Wolfson, plus many New Jersey and Cape Cod friends.
He had worked for Dupont in Pompton Lakes, NJ where he had lived for many years. While in Pompton Lakes he served as a Special Police Officer for 20 years.
Upon retirement he lived in Shrewsbury, MA and then moved to Cape Cod full-time where he lived life to the fullest. John loved cooking for friends, fishing, and golfing. He had a great sense of humor and a zest for life.
