Todd Alan Bjarnson, 29, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, March 24, 2013, at his home in Salem, Oregon. Todd was born on February 27, 1984 in Berkeley, California to Dennis and Vicki Bjarnson. The family moved from the Bay Area to Salem in 1987. Todd attended Pringle Elementary School, Judson Middle School, and Sprague High School. He went on to study Psychology and Business at Western Oregon University, graduating in 2006. After college, he attended graduate school at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine for one year.
Todd always had a great sense of humor and loved joking with friends and family. Summers spent with his cousins making rafts, fishing, camping, and making movies were very special. He loved playing the guitar, especially with his band, Jilted Spectrum. He continued playing and writing songs after high school and college. Throughout middle school and into adulthood Todd practiced Qi Gong and Tai Chi. He loved nature and collected rocks wherever he travelled. Other passions included video games, reading, writing, camping and fishing. Sahalie Falls and Clear Lake were always magical places for him. There he felt he could commune with Nature and find peace within himself. He worked in sales and tutored math for the No Child Left Behind program. His love of books led him into buying and selling textbooks.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Christina Coleman, his parents, Dennis and Vicki Bjarnson, a step brother, Chris Bjarnson of Atascadero, California and grandparents, Loyd and Betty McCallie of Lebanon.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, March 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Belcrest Cemetery in the Mausoleum Chapel. Arrangements by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors. To leave audio or online condolences please visit www.HED-FH.com.
