It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymundo “Mundo” Alvarez. Born March 17, 1955 in Manzanillas municipio de Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, he passed away on March 21, 2013 in Ventura, CA.
Raymundo came to the United Sates when he was 15 years old and had lived in Ventura County for 43 years. He was well known for his loving and giving personality. His greatest passion was playing and watching baseball. In fact, he was a great pitcher.
Raymundo leaves behind his wife Maria Luisa; two daughters, Roxanne Alvarez and Esthefany; 4 grandchildren, Enrique, Casandra, Jose and Carissa; brother, Juan Alvarez (wife, Cynthia); mother, Camerina Reyes Alvarez all from Santa Paula; his 7 sisters, Elvira, Virginia, Maria Irma, Maricelina, Carmen, Nora Hilda and Rosa Maria Alvarez; and many many nieces and nephews. Raymundo will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Raymundo Alvarez Sr.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 29 from 3 to 9pm and Saturday, March 30 from 9am to 9pm at Funeraria del Angel Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th Street, Santa Paula. A rosary will be held on Monday, April 1 at 1pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with the Funeral Mass immediately after. Burial will follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.
