A Celebration of Life for Stacy Reed Larkin will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Cypress Baptist Church with Brother John Baker, Minister of Carriage Oaks Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Wednesday March 27, 2013 at Cypress Baptist Church, Benton, LA.
Stacy was born March 19, 1968 at Fort Hood, TX to parents Linda (Greenlee) and Billy Reed Larkin and left peacefully to be with Jesus on March 25, 2013 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He was a graduate of Trinity Heights Christian Academy and a graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport. He was a member of Carriage Oaks Church of Christ where he was very involved in teaching bible class to middle and high school students.
He was employed at Wallace Brothers Body Shop while attending high school. He worked for Royale and Northwest Airlines while at LSUS where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Marketing in 1991. He was then employed with McElroy Metal as a Customer Service Representative, before promoting to Customer Service Manager in Marshall, Michigan in 1993. He was then promoted to Plant Manager in Owensboro, Kentucky in 1997. In 1999, he then promoted to Operations Manager with McElroy Metal in Bossier City, Louisiana. In 2003, he became employed with MetLife as a Financial Advisor. He was an active member of NAIFA, the Tax and Estate Planning Council, and a member of BEI. He also served on the Board for the March of Dimes. He was a member of Red River Street Rod Association because of his love for classic cars.
Stacy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Greenlee; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Larkin; and his brother-in-law, Gaylon Allen Trotter. Stacy is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lisa Marie Trotter Larkin; son, Brandon Reed Larkin; parents, Billy Reed and Linda Larkin; sister Kimberly Larkin Holder and husband Loren; nephew, Levi Holder; and niece, Julia Holder. He is also survived by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Landry and Marie Trotter; grandparents-in-law, Thomas Glenn and Eunice Rhodes.
Pall bearers will be Howell Hicks, Ray Monroe, Keith Watson, Johnny Hicks, James Wark, and Tim Briery. Honorary pall bearers will be Mike Willis, Jeff Akes, Johnny Ashby, Craig Bond, and Dave Corley.
We would like to give special appreciation for all the love, prayers and financial support of all the family and friends during this journey.
Stacy lived his life with purpose, integrity, and dignity. To know him was to love him. He brought great joy to all he met.
