Ms. Ayllon was passionate about teaching, having a career in education which spanned 35 years in E. St. Louis, Long Beach, CA, and the vast majority of her career spent in district 175 @Harmon-Emge-Ellis. Daphne was a 20 year member of the Thursday Literary Club and a volunteer at the Women’s Crisis Center in Belleville. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, Clarence L. Goldsmith, Sr. and Ruby Goldsmith (nee Hayden); her spouse of nearly 37 years, Arnold Ayllon; a brother in infancy, Billy; a sister-in-law, Marion Goldsmith; and brothers-in-law, David Griffin and Robert Jennings.
Survived by her sons, Paul (Lynne) Ayllon and Robert B. Ayllon; grandchildren, Tiffany (Vance) Messer and Amy Jones; sisters, Isabelle Griffin and Phyllis Joan Jennings; and brothers, Dr. Clarence Hayden Goldsmith and Ronald (Mary Ann) Goldsmith.

Visitation on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2 at Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Pkwy West, Belleville, 62223 with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Entombment at Valhalla Gardens of Memory.
