Eleanore T. Grabowski, age 78, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2013 in the Manchester Manor Rehabilitation Center in Manchester, NJ. She was born on June 18, 1934 in Bronx, NY, and was the daughter of the late Rosina and Egon Yunger. Eleanore was formerly employed with the St. Mary of the Lake Parish in Lakewood. She was an extraordinary minister of the eucharist. Eleanore taught religious instruction for the public school children. She was a member of the R.C.I.A. and R.C.I.C. She served as audit committee chairman for the Leisure Village East community, and had served as a leader for Girl Scouts. Eleanore was a member of the Heritage Club and the Red Sails in the Sunset chapter of the Red Hat Club. She was an avid reader and rose gardener. Eleanore was known amongst family and friends to be a superb baker of pies and breads. She formerly bred and showed her beloved Belgian Sheep Dogs. Eleanore was always willing to help family, friends and strangers in need, and will be missed by more than she could have imagined.
Wife of the late Leo Grabowski, Eleanore is survived by her 3 children, Teri Weniger and her husband John of Bridgewater, NJ, Eileen Holleran and her husband Shawn of Brick, NJ, and Diane Harvey and her husband Jerry of Athens, TN and 7 grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at12:00 p.m. Friday in St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Susan G.
