Gertrude Aurelia "Gertie" Harbrecht passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at The Summit at Park Hills in Fairborn. She was 93. Born Oct. 19, 1919 in Plymouth, WI, she graduated with Plymouth High School's Class of '37. She was married to Eugene A. Harbrecht on Aug. 7, 1943 in Walnut Ridge, Ark, where he was an Army Air Force Cadet. The service career took the family from Arkansas to Texas, California, Wisconsin and Michigan before settling in Fairborn in 1964. Mrs. Harbrecht was an active member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella, an auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She was a regular on the women' church league bowling circuit in the '60s and '70s and also a regular at weekly church bingo, where her husband Gene volunteered. For years she was an avid craftswoman whose creations were always on display at church craft fairs and bazaars. Mrs. Harbrecht is preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and her daughter, Joanne, in 1994. She is survived by her son, Eugene II and his wife, Patricia; her daughter Catherine and her husband, Donald; granddaughters Jennifer and Joanne and great granddaughter Abriana. Main St. Fairborn, Ohio on Monday, April 22, 2013 5PM to 7PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church, 954 N. Maple Ave. Fairborn, Ohio on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:00AM with Rev. Charles F. Lang, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, Ohio.
