He was born December 6, 1933, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Wilburn Lester and Anna Massey Alexander. He retired from J.C.Penney Distribution Center after 38 years of service, served in the U.S. Army and was a former member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was an antique car enthusiast and enjoyed the spring and anything pertaining to the outdoors, especially gardening and mowing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Berlene Cook and Mildred Graham.
He is survived by his wife, Romona Sue Whitley Alexander, whom he married on June 16, 1961; a son, Cary Parks Alexander of Statesville; and two sisters, Fern A. Morrison of Aberdeen and Betty A. Elam of Mooresville.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 22, 2013, at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. J.C. Parks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Sunday at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
