Mr. Tedesco was a graduate of St. Louis University and St. Louis University School of Law. After graduation, Donald served in the U.S. Army. Upon his return to the states, he started a long and successful law practice. Besides having his own private law practice, he served as the Village Attorney for both Millstadt and New Athens and was legal counsel for the East Side Fire Protection District.
His civic and personal achievements include serving as the first president of the Belleville Optimist Breakfast Club; secretary of the Mental Health Board; served on the board of both Althoff High School and Belleville Area College; a former member of the Serra Club of St. Clair County; member of Belleville Economic Progress, Inc.; and a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, No. 481. Donald was also a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where he served as a Lector, Minister, and Usher. Mr. Tedesco also served as President of the Parent’s Teacher Organization of Blessed Sacrament School.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Florence Tedesco, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife Janette, nee Mann, Tedesco whom he married in 1959; one son, Thomas Tedesco of Belleville; and a daughter, Susan Marie Tedesco of South Carolina.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, IL.
Services: A mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Matthew Elie officiating at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 8809 W. Main St., Belleville, IL.
Per Donald’s request, cremation is to follow the mass with inurnment at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
