Lila Maurine Allison, 80, went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2013 in Highland Village, Texas. Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, April 26th, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with Brother Jack Ridlehoover officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 Hwy 277 South. Visitation will be from 5 to 7p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Maurine Freeman was born In Aspermont, Texas, August 24, 1932, to James Murry Freeman and Lila Maye Hilterbrand Freeman. Maurine graduated valedictorian of Aspermont High School and graduated from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
Maurine wed Hollis Carlton Allison, of Rule, Texas, on February 5, 1955 in Aspermont, Texas. They lived in Rule, Texas until 1961, when they moved to Abilene, Texas. She was a teacher much of her life but also worked in business and office management. She later became a realtor and was a member of the Abilene Board of Realtors and a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
Maurine lived in Abilene for 56 years then moved to Flower Mound, Texas in 2011 to be nearer to two of her children.
She was preceded in death by parents, a brother, Harlan Boyd "Sonny" Freeman, and her husband of 28 years, Carlton Allison. Maurine is survived by her brother Elwood Freeman, and wife Reva of Lamesa, Texas.
Maurine is also survived by three children: Kerry Allison of Fort Worth, Texas; Marisa Allison-Scheef of Lubbock, Texas; and Michelle Davenport and her husband, Andy Davenport, of Argyle, Texas; and 5 grandsons: Chris Sellers and his wife Kristin, and Alex Scheef of Lubbock, Texas; Spencer Scheef of Denver, Colorado; Tanner Davenport and Matt Davenport of Argyle, Texas.
