family and friends. Born in Topeka, Kansas January 4, 1929 he was the youngest of three.
He was a resident, Barber and Lion Member in Grand Terrace for over 60 years.
He met the mother of his children “Loubelle” in Vancouver, Canada while on leave from the Navy in 1949. They married that year and later had five children Ronald, Wayne, Keith, Lori and Lisa. There are five grandchildren Jennifer, Susan, Jordan, Tyler, and Zakary, also three daughter-in-laws Donna, Kim and Kelly.
He went to barber college in Los Angeles graduating in 1950, where he started his career, later migrating to Riverside and then to Grand Terrace.
His second wife was Betty Johnson with whom he was very happy for many years until her passing from cancer.
His third wife was Colleen Holiday, with whom he was married to for many years. They traveled to lots of different places including many Lions conventions and trips to Vegas, as well as Australia and Hawaii. Their favorite thing to do was play golf and in their earlier years bowling. Colleen passed four years ago from cancer. Rex missed her very much.
He was a charter member of the Lions in Grand Terrace Ca. where he was a very dedicated and active member for most of his adult life. The Lions were like his second family.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
