Martha M. Alibrio, 88, of Bedford died May 8, 2013 at the Bedford Hills Center after a brief illness. She was born on May 12, 1924 in Purvis, MS the daughter of Edward and Anna (Graves) Murphy. She grew up in Philadelphia, MS. and was a graduate of Philadelphia High School and attended Decatur College. She was employed for many years as a dictationist at the Providence Journal.
Martha was an avid bridge player and traveled extensively to local and regional tournaments achieving Life Master Status. She was the past president of the Resident Association of Bedford Hills. She will be remembered as a loving mother and aunt to many nephews and nieces.
Members of her family include her son John Alibrio and his wife Lorie of Bedford, her loving companion Jack Sullivan of Manchester, her son Eugene Alibrio and his wife Mary Jo of Manchester and her two grandchildren Gina Alibrio and John Alibrio.
Calling hours were held on Monday May 13, 2013 from 3 to 6PM at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester followed by a memorial service. Burial was private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Martha’s name to the American Cancer Society 2 Commerce Drive Suite 110 Bedford, NH 03110.
