REGISTER, Margarette Bryant - Age 97 of Nashville, TN, passed away on the 15th of May 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Theodore F. Register; and sister, Marie B. Carter. She is survived by her son, David W. Register and daughter-in-law, Sheila B. Register; sister, Marcia B. Prather; her beloved friend and nurse, Dean Anderson and devoted caregivers, Fran Alderson, Dot Clemmons, Maria Virivapong, Helen Ward, Constance Epps, Reana Harding, Alice Childress and long time friend and personal physician, Dr. Lee Tucker. Mrs. Register graduated from Williamsburg High School, Cumberland Junior College and attended the University of Louisville, KY, and held a M.L.S. degree from Peabody Library School of Vanderbilt University. During the 1940's, she worked several years in the State office of the Department of Human Services. She was a member of Woodmont Baptist Church for 60 years where she was among those who helped arrange, equip, and furnish the media center. She served on the staff for more than thirty years and most of that time served as director of library services. She also served as a merit badge counselor for Boy Scout troop 121. Mrs. Register was an avid reader. She continued to be interested in Christian literature for adults and children. She loved flowers and the beauty of nature, plants, music and watching the birds and animals in the yard. Mrs. Register was much loved and will be greatly missed. The family cordially invites friends to gather for a time of visitation and remembrance on Sunday, the 19th of May 2013 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home from three o'clock until six o'clock in the evening. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Woodlawn's Dignity Hall on Monday, the 20th of May 2013 at two-thirty in the afternoon with visitation held one hour prior.
