Born in Dracut, Massachusetts, Mr. Gitschier had previously lived in Rhinebeck, NY before moving to the Treasure Coast area in 1989.
He retired from the Rhinebeck Central School District in Rhinebeck, NY. Mr. Gitschier was the past president of the Woodbridge Mobile Home Homeowners Association, and was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Stuart, FL.
He was a veteran of the United Sates Army and served our country in World War II.
Mr. Gitschier is survived by his daughter, Edna Bloomer of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Peggy Roush and her husband, Robert of Rhinebeck, NY; son, Parker A. Gitschier, Jr. and his wife, Colleen of Indiantown, FL; sister, Hazel Beskalo of Pepperill, MA; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren., and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Lena, and his son, William Gitschier.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, 10:00 AM at Aycock Funeral Home in Stuart, Florida.
