Bernard Jay Stockmaster (65) of Attica died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 12, 1947 in Tiffin to the late Lawrence and Rosa (Hahler) Stockmaster. Mr. Stockmaster was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam War and retired for MTD in Shelby. He was a member of the American Legion Post #171 Attica and enjoyed Attica racing, NASCAR his mustang and cookouts with his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Stockmaster is survived by his wife: Veneta A. (Martin) Stockmaster, son: Gregory L. Stockmaster of Galion, daughter: Rebecca K. Stockmaster of Willard, Stepson: Christopher J. (Tracy J.) Bordner of Attica and 2 stepdaughters: Dawn R. Bordner of Attica and Tracy A. (Michael) Sipe of Shelby. 5 grandchildren: Kayla, Alec, Brooke, Garret and Lucas and great grandson: Carson. Brother: Richard L. Stockmaster of Attica and 3 sisters: Donna (Ira) Rotruck of Attica, Lois Payne of Tiffin and Helen (Elbert) Mullins of Tiffin, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 infant brothers: Richard and William, infant sister: Ellen R. Stockmaster, Brother in Law: Daryl Payne and sister-in-Law: Paula Stockmaster.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Our Lady of Hope Church with Fr. Paul A. Fahrbach conducting the Mass. Burial will be in the Attica Venice Township Cemetery with military services being provided by the American Legion. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica with a Scriptural Vigil Service being held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Memorial Contributions may be made FACT (Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment), Ohio Cancer Help or Attica Historical Society through the funeral home.
