Donna I. Ayers, 56 of Wardsboro, VT passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, May 31, 2013. She was born in Brattleboro on December 15, 1956, the daughter of the late Philip and Louise (Forrest) Rice.
Donna has been a Wardsboro resident for 35 years, previously residing in Wilmington, VT. She was educated in the Wilmington school system, graduating from Wilmington High School. After graduation, Donna worked at several local stores and restaurants where she enjoyed interacting with people. Recently her days have been filled with watching the birds and wildlife off her deck with her family and dog Cocoa. Her greatest and proudest achievement in life was her four children, whom she loved spending time with.
She is predeceased by a sister, Gloria Reiger in 2007, and her mother-in-law, Anna G. Ayers in 2011.
Donna is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Ayers of Wardsboro; a son, William P. Ayers also of Wardsboro; three daughters, Liberty A. Borek and her husband Louis of Maryland; Celina G. Ayers of W. Townshend and Amber A. Ayers and her significant other William J. Ahearn also of W. Townshend; a brother, William Rice and his wife Cill of Bennington; a sister, Janice Knapp of Wilmington; her father-in-law, William W. Ayers of Wardsboro; a brother-in-law, Russell A. Ayers; an Aunt, Marie Siddell of Wardsboro; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There were no calling hours. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, June 8th at 11:00 am at the South Wardsboro First Congregational Church, 33 Newfane Rd. Weather permitting burial will follow at the South Wardsboro Cemetery. Directly after, a reception will be held at the Wardsboro Town Hall. The Ker-Westerlund Funeral Home in Brattleboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
