DREW, Ann M. (Bell), 93, of Norwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Friday, June 7th, in Norwood. Born in Boston on August 15, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John Bell and Mary (Collins) and the beloved wife of the late Henry J. Drew. A former social worker with the Department of Public Welfare, Ann was a charter member of the Girls High School Association in Charlestown, a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Ladies Sodality, and a longtime volunteer of the Norwood Senior Center. She was the loving mother of Kathleen M. O’Brien and her husband, William O’Brien, of Norwood, Margaret B. Drew and her husband, George Slama, of Cincinnati, OH and South Yarmouth, Massachusetts and the late Mary Ann and her late husband, Brian Doyle; the dear sister of the late Margaret Shea, Catherine Hoban, Charles and John Bell and Mary Turner; the cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and the aunt to several cherished nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 11, at 9:00 AM from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, June 10, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s memory to the Friends of the Norwood Morrill Memorial Library, PO Box 220, Norwood, MA 02062.
