Henry “Hank” Anderson, 80, a resident of Newport, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his daughter’s home with family at his side, on Thursday, June 6, 2013, following a long illness.
He was born June 16, 1932, in Brockton, Massachusetts the son of Henry and Edythe (Nye) Anderson. Hank proudly served our Nation as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked many years as a Superintendent of Construction for a large local cooperation prior to his retirement.
Hank was a man strong in will and pride, he was a firm believer in an honest days work for an honest days pay( and you had better believe it too if you wished to keep your job )
His main interests included riding his motorcycle, his horses, fishing, hunting, building or repairing almost anything and his dog “Honey Girl”.
Although generally not a man to openly show much affection, his quiet unassuming compassion was clearly demonstrated in the daily care which he showed to his wife: Ann Crossman, who battled many years with Alzheimer’s before her passing in 2011.
He is survived by his daughter: Debra Robinson and her husband Mitchell of East Alstead, NH, four sons: Frank Anderson and his wife Doretta of East Alstead, NH, Garry Anderson of Nebo, NC, James Anderson and his wife Janet of Wecki Wachee, FL and David Anderson and his wife Kimberly of Nebo, NC. nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his brother: Carl Anderson and his wife Marsha of Rhode Island, two sisters: Diane Anderson and her husband Richard of Massachusetts, Carol Ann Carbone of Rhode Island, his first wife and mother of his children Helen Anderson of East Alstead N.H. and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He is predeceased by his wife Anne and grandson Jacob B. Anderson.
Graveside services will be held in the West Cemetery on Route 123 in Alstead, New Hampshire on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 1:00pm. There will be no calling hours.
